Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has singled out Victor Osimhen as one of the most exciting strikers to ever wear the club’s colours, praising the Nigerian’s relentless energy and match-winning qualities.
The Nigeria international has quickly established himself as a central figure at the Istanbul club since completing a high-profile move from SSC Napoli.
After initially arriving on loan, the Super Eagles forward signed permanently in a deal worth around €75m, a record transfer for the Turkish champions.
The investment has paid off handsomely. Since joining the club, Osimhen has delivered an impressive return of 54 goals and 11 assists in 66 appearances across all competitions, becoming one of the most decisive players under head coach Okan Buruk.
Speaking in a recent interview, Özbek admitted that Osimhen’s performances have brought enormous joy not only to Galatasaray supporters but also to football fans across Istanbul.

According to the club president, the Nigerian striker’s relentless pressing, constant movement, and ability to excite the crowd make him stand out among the many forwards who have represented the club.
“At the centre of attention, he came to Galatasaray. Among the strikers who have played for Galatasaray, after Metin Oktay, Victor Osimhen is the one who excites me the most,” Özbek said in remarks reported by Turkish outlet Haber Sari Kirmizi.
The president added that Osimhen’s intensity is evident even during training sessions.
“We admire him even when watching Osimhen in practice. Even there, he’s performing like he’s at the pace of the game. We’re afraid he’ll get hurt,” he said.

Osimhen’s form has been crucial for Galatasaray as they continue their push for silverware this season. The Istanbul giants currently sit top of the Turkish Süper Lig table, while also preparing for a high-profile clash against Liverpool FC in the round of sixteen of the UEFA Champions League.
With his relentless work rate and eye for goal, the Nigerian international remains one of the most influential players in the squad as Galatasaray chase success both domestically and in Europe.
