Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi is optimistic that Fulham can recover from their disappointing 4-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
The Cottagers started the match brightly, with Iwobi delivering a stunning strike to give his side an early lead. However, the momentum quickly shifted as Wolves mounted a commanding comeback, scoring four unanswered goals to secure all three points and their second victory of the season.
Reflecting on the defeat, Iwobi shared his disappointment but emphasized the importance of resilience and improvement. “That’s how goals quickly change games and gave them the confidence to kick on,” the former Arsenal midfielder told Fulham.com.
“Even though they scored, we need to keep the same composure and remain calm, no matter what. We struggled to dominate like we did, so credit to them, but we’re going to look at ourselves to improve.
“We have to play the game for 90 minutes. We weren’t able to keep the same form that we had in the first half, so we have to analyze and go again. We can’t dwell on this. We have to keep on going and push on. Obviously, games come thick and fast, so we can put it right in the next game.”
Despite the loss, Iwobi’s performance stood out, continuing his strong form this season. Fulham will now aim to regroup quickly, with a packed schedule offering opportunities to get back on track.
