Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has unveiled his starting line-up for Nigeria’s pre-AFCON international friendly against Egypt, set to take place at the Cairo International Stadium, Bold Sports reports.

The coach made changes to the team, leaving out several regular starters as he looks to hand opportunities to other players eager to stake their claim ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Despite reports of hand and ankle concerns, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been named in the starting line-up, with the 29-year-old retaining his place between the posts. Nantes defender Chidozie Awaziem will lead the side as captain, anchoring a back four that also includes Zaidu Sanusi, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Igoh Ogbu.

In midfield, Frank Onyeka gets the nod alongside Raphael Onyedika, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and highly-rated youngster Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who will be making his debut for the national team.

Up front, Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke is deployed in attack, supporting in-form Besiktas striker Paul Onuachu, who will spearhead the Super Eagles’ frontline against the Pharaohs.

The encounter is scheduled to kick off by 7pm Nigerian time, with unlimited substitutions permitted, allowing both coaches ample opportunity to rotate their squads and experiment with different combinations ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
