Super Falcons forward Jennifer Echegini scored her first goal of the season as Paris Saint Germain Féminines secured a 4-1 victory over Saint-Etienne in their league clash on Sunday, Bold Sports reports.
PSG came into the game looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats in the UEFA women’s champions league to Manchester United and Bayern Munchen. They did so in style with two goals in each half to get their seventh league win this season.
French midfielder Sakina Karchaoui opened the scoring in the sixth minute of the game before Romee Leuchter doubled the visitors’ advantage with a well-taken penalty on the cusp of halftime.
Laura Munk Hermann grabbed a goal in the 58th minute to make the scoreline 2-1, but any hopes of a comeback were dashed in the 80th minute with Brazilian right back Isabela heading home from close range to give PSG a 3-1 lead.

Echegini wrapped up the victory in the fifth minute of extra time, securing all three points for the French giants and condemning Saint-Etienne to their sixth league defeat of the season.
The result means that Paris Saint Germain Féminines remain three points behind OL Lyonnes who have won all eight of their league games this season. Meanwhile Saint-Etienne sit 11th on the standings with just four points in eight games.
Echegini’s goal takes her goal contribution tally to three for the campaign. Meanwhile, her Nigerian teammate Rasheedat Ajibade remains out due to an injury she sustained in the UEFA Champions League loss to Bayern Munchen.
