Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade registered an assist but could not prevent Paris Saint-Germain Féminines from slipping to a 3–1 defeat against Bayern Munich on Thursday, extending their woeful run in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The loss, PSG’s fourth in four league phase games, leaves the French giants bottom of the standings and facing a steep uphill task to qualify for the knockout round.

PSG made a bright start and were rewarded in the 16th minute, when Ajibade teed up Sakina Karchaoui to fire the hosts in front. The lead, however, was short-lived. Linda Dallmann struck two minutes later to restore parity for Bayern and wrestle momentum away from the Parisians.

The visitors completed their comeback before the break through Momoko Tanikawa, who finished clinically to hand the German side a 2–1 advantage at halftime. Despite PSG’s attempts to respond, Bayern remained in control and sealed the result in the 89th minute when substitute Jovana Damnjanovic added a late third.

There was further worry for PSG after Ajibade was forced off injured in the 55th minute, replaced by Merveille Kanjinga. The club will hope the injury is not serious, with key fixtures on the horizon. Her Super Falcons teammate Jennifer Echegini featured for 85 minutes in the defeat.
