Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi continued his fine form on Thursday night, scoring his seventh goal of the season although it was not enough as Viktoria Plzen were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Ferencvaros in their Europa League opener at Budapest, Bold Sports reports.
The 22-year-old, who started in attack alongside Matej Vydra, received a yellow card in the 15th minute but responded almost immediately, producing a moment of brilliance from the edge of the box to put the visitors in front.
Ferencvaros’ hopes of a comeback took a hit when they were reduced to ten men before halftime, and Viktoria Plzen appeared to be cruising towards all three points as they restricted the hosts from creating clear chances.

However, the game took a dramatic turn in stoppage time when Serbian forward Aleksandar Pešić came on to score a last-minute equaliser, breaking Plzen’s resistance and rescuing a point for the Hungarian champions.
The result means Viktoria Plzen have now lost just once in their last seven matches across all competitions, though they will view the draw as a missed opportunity. For Ferencvaros, the late goal means they remain unbeaten in the last four games.
Durosinmi’s goal was his seventh in 15 appearances this season, leaving him only two short of last season’s tally. The forward will hope to continue his rich vein of form when Plzen face FC Zlin in the league on Sunday, while Ferencvaros travel to Györi ETO looking to return to winning ways.
