David Moses netted the winning goal as Slavia Prague secured a 2-1 victory over Sigma Olomouc in their final game of the Czech First League regular season on Saturday.

It marked the 22-year-old Nigerian midfielder’s first goal of the season, helping the hosts complete a remarkable comeback and end their two-game winless streak.

Sigma Olomouc had taken the lead 15 minutes into the game through Václav Sejk’s strike. However, the visitors were reduced to ten men few minutes later, with Louis Lurvink receiving a straight red card.

Slavia Prague took advantage of the numerical superiority to turn the game around. In the 59th minute, the hosts leveled the score line through Mojmír Chytil’s finish from close range.

In the 83rd minute, the comeback was completed. David Moses received the ball outside the box after a corner kick was cleared towards him. The midfielder took a brilliant touch before firing a shot, which was deflected into the back of the net.

The goal secured all three points for Slavia Prague, leaving them eight points clear of second-placed Sparta Prague. The top ten sides will now head into the Championship playoffs to decide the winner of the league.

Asides from David Moses, Super Eagles defender Igoh Ogbu also played the full 90 minutes for Slavia Prague, while midfielder Samuel Isife came off the bench.
