Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers has been ruled out of the season due to a tendon injury and will play no further part in Cremonese’s last push to remain in the Italian topflight league. 

Cremonese currently finds themselves in 19th place in Serie A with only three games remaining. They have 25 points from 35 league games, six points behind Hellas Verona and Spezia in 18th and 17th place, respectively.

In their upcoming match against Bologna, Cremonese hopes to secure a win to keep their survival chances alive. However, they are also dependent on the outcomes of the matches involving Spezia and Verona.

Dessers, who scored six goals and provided two assists in 26 Serie A games, has been absent from the team’s last three matches due to his injury. Unfortunately, his recovery has not been successful, and the club stated that he is still undergoing treatment.

The club announced that Dessers is unlikely to return to the field this season, as he continues to receive specialized treatment for his injury. 

“Dessers is undergoing a cycle of therapies at a specialized health facility, but will hardly be able to return to the field this season,” the club statement read.

Cremonese remains determined to fight for survival, despite the setback of losing their key player, and the team is focused on securing crucial victories in the remaining matches in order to maintain their topflight status.
