…Wisdom Mike joined Club Brugge from Bayern Munich in the summer
Belgian champions Club Brugge have included Nigeria-eligible 17-year-old winger Wisdom Mike in their 23-man squad to face Aston Villa in their opening game of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League at the Jan Breydel Stadium on Tuesday, Bold Sports reports.
The highly rated youngster, who joined Club Brugge from Bayern Munich in the summer, is yet to make his competitive debut for the Belgian champions. He was left out of the squad for their games against KAA Gent and Lommel as he continues to acclimatise to his new surroundings and Belgian football.
However, Wisdom Mike has now been named in the squad to face last season’s Europa League winners, Aston Villa, who are yet to find their feet this season after failing to record a win in their opening three Premier League games.

While both clubs will be hoping to begin their Champions League campaigns on a positive note, Mike will also be eager to make his first appearance in Europe’s premier club competition.
Born in Germany to Nigerian parents, the teenager is eligible to represent both Germany and Nigeria at senior international level. He is currently part of Germany’s youth setup and represented the country at the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Mike made four appearances for Bayern Munich last season before his campaign was cut short by a serious injury.
