Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Super Eagles midfielder Chrisantus Uche on a season-long loan from La Liga side Getafe, the Premier League club confirmed on Monday.
The 22-year-old joins the Eagles on a one-year loan deal and will wear the No. 12 shirt during his stay in South London. The agreement between club sides includes an obligation to buy, allowing Palace to secure his services permanently next summer.
Uche becomes Crystal Palace’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Walter Benítez, Borna Sosa, Yeremy Pino, and Jaydee Canvot.
Reacting to the move, Chairman Steve Parish said: “I’m delighted to welcome Christantus to the club – an exciting young talent, who is also a full international.
“Christantus has already shown his capability during his time in Spain and everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing him thrive in South London.”
Uche also expressed his delight with joining the FA Cup and Community Shield champions: “This moment is unbelievable. I’m very lucky to be here today and this club is a big opportunity for me.”

Uche’s journey to the top has been nothing short of remarkable. He began his European career with Spanish fifth-tier side Moralo CP in 2022 before moving to third-division outfit AD Ceuta FC, where his performances caught wider attention.
In 2024, he signed for Getafe ahead of the 2024-25 season and quickly established himself as a key player, making 38 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing seven assists. He has already continued his fine form this season, contributing one goal and one assist in Getafe’s La Liga opener.
