Chuma Okeke shines as Orlando Magic shock Warriors

Orlando Magic forward, Chuma Okeke, was in the thick of the action scoring a season-high 16 points as they earned a tough 130-129 win over NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors at the Amway Center on Friday.

The win sees the Magic record their second win of the season in nine games while the loss is the Warrior’s sixth in nine games. They’ve only recorded three wins so far this season, an indication of a crack in their system.

Aside from 16 points, Chuma Okeke also added nine rebounds, three assists and one block shooting 66% from field goals, 60% from beyond the arc and 83% from the free throw line in the memorable win.

Jalen Snuggs led the magic on scoring with 26 points, nine assists and one rebound while rookie Paolo Banchero had 22 points, three assists and eight rebounds. Steph Curry had 39 points in the game as well as nine assists and three rebounds while Klay Thompson recorded 27 points, three assists and four rebounds.

The Magic will next face the Sacramento Kings who had a slow start to the season but have recorded two wins in their last three games.

Okeke, who was a first round 16th overall selection by the Magic in the 2019 NBA draft has seen the team exercise their fourth-year team options on the 24-year-old as well as guard Cole Anthony. Magic also exercised their third year options on Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner.
