Chelsea are poised to bolster their attacking options with the imminent signing of Super Eagles-eligible striker Samu Omorodion from Atlético Madrid.
The Blues have agreed personal terms with the promising forward on a seven-year contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until June 2031.
A fee of £35 million has been settled with Atlético, paving the way for Omorodion’s move to West London. However, the deal remains contingent on the Spanish club completing the acquisition of Julián Álvarez from Manchester City.
The news was confirmed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano. “Chelsea have all set with Samu Omorodion to join the club on a seven-year contract, valid until June 2031. Personal terms agreed and Atlético to receive £35m fee,” the Italian journalist wrote on X.
“Green light only when Atlético will complete all final steps for Julián Álvarez.”
Chelsea have been in the market for a striker with the Blues heavily linked to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen all summer. Omorodion joining the club will be one for the future.
