RSB Berkane head coach Moïn Chaâbani says his side must remain fully focused when they take on Rivers United in Friday’s CAF Champions League clash, warning that the Nigerian side would be dangerous opponents, Bold Sports reports.
Rivers United, who are still searching for their first points in the competition, will host the three-time CAF Confederation Cup champions at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The Pride of Rivers opened their group-stage campaign with a disappointing 3-0 defeat to defending champions Pyramids FC, while Berkane began on a positive note with a convincing 3-0 win over Power Dynamos.
In his pre-match press conference, Chaâbani spoke on what his team will need to defeat a determined Rivers United side.

“Regarding tomorrow’s match, we know that our opponent lost their first match with a score of 3-0. Tomorrow, they will host us on their home ground and will be under enormous pressure to secure the victory,” he said.
“This element will make the encounter difficult, and we will need to be at maximum concentration to manage it in the best possible way, Chaâbani added.
Midfielder Rayane Aabid echoed his coach’s sentiments, while noting that his team’s experience on the continent will be crucial.
“We have well prepared for this match, and our team has the necessary experience in African competitions,” the 33-year-old said. “We know that the confrontation will not be easy, but we will do everything possible to achieve a positive result,” he added.

Berkane will be without midfielder Mohamed El Morabit and winger Youssef Mehri, both ruled out after sustaining injuries in the win over Power Dynamos. However, the Moroccan side received a boost ahead of the trip to Nigeria, with Oussama Lamlioui, Zinédine Machach, and Soumaila Sidibé all returning to full fitness and available for selection.
Rivers United, meanwhile, will be aiming to avoid back-to-back defeats as they look to ignite their Champions League campaign in front of their home fans.
