The academy has already recorded encouraging progress, with three players invited for trials at established Nigerian clubs. Remo Stars invited one player, while Abia Comets extended invitations to two others.
Beyond domestic opportunities, Burna Boy FA ONGUARD is also seeking to connect promising young footballers with clubs abroad, with the aim of increasing their exposure and opening doors to professional careers in the global game.
The academy operates under the technical guidance of head coach Chinedu Obasi and his coaching crew, while its Talent Identification and Recruitment Department is led by Tunde Taiwo.
With a focus on identifying, developing and promoting emerging talents, the academy aims to bridge the gap between grassroots football and the professional game, giving young players opportunities to showcase their abilities.
Burna Boy’s latest comments at the Ballon d’Or ceremony further underline his ambition to extend his influence beyond music and contribute to the development of Nigerian football.
Through Burna Boy FA ONGUARD, the singer hopes to help nurture the next generation of footballers and create opportunities for Nigerian talents to make their mark on the international stage.
