Braga’s youth academy have confirmed the signing of highly-rated Nigerian defender Adebisi Olamikun, bringing the 18-year-old to Portugal from newly-promoted NPFL side Inter Lagos.
The left-footed centre-back has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Portuguese club and will continue his development within the academy setup, with a pathway to the senior team should he continue to impress.
Olamikun arrives in Braga on the back of a promising rise through Nigerian football. He first made his mark as captain of Ilaji FC in Ibadan, before a move to Inter Lagos saw him quickly establish himself as one of the club’s standout young performers.
Speaking after completing his move, the teenager was eager to embrace the challenge ahead. “I’m excited to begin this chapter, ready to give all my best for this club,” he said.

Olamikun also outlined his ambitions in Braga’s colours. “The ambition is clear; reach the first team, work daily to improve and be ready when that opportunity arises.”
Reflecting on what the move means to him, the youngster added: “I’m very happy. It means the club believes in my potential and reinforces my desire to keep improving and contributing to the team’s success.”
The move comes at a strong moment for Braga, who remain firmly established among Liga Portugal’s elite. The club finished fourth for a third straight season last term, a result that secured them qualification for the Conference League in the 2026/27 campaign.
For Olamikun, the challenge now shifts to adapting to a new football culture as he looks to work his way up through Braga’s well-regarded academy pipeline, one that has produced several first-team players in recent years.
