Bournemouth to hijack Terem Moffi from West Ham, Nice

West Ham and Ligue 1 side OGC Nice are facing stiff competition from Premier League strugglers, Bournemouth for the signature of Nigerian striker, Terem Moffi.

The Hammers and Nice are hoping to sign the Nigerian in the January transfer window to strengthen their squad ahead of an imminent relegation battle.

According to reports in France and England, West Ham have held talks with the club in the region of £25m which is believed to be £20m with a further £5m in add-ons. The Hammers are in dire need of an in-form striker who would help solve their lack of scoring problems while it has also been reported that the Nigerian has agreed a deal with Nice on New Year Eve.

After completing the signing of Burkina Faso star Dango Ouattara from Lorient for £20m, the Premier League side have turned their attention to the Nigeria international and look the most likely to have a deal complete due to the strong ties between both clubs. Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has a stake in Lorient and would be hoping it serves as an advantage in their pursuit of the striker.

Moffi has been one of the stand out players in Ligue 1 this season having found the back of the net 12 times in 18 league appearances making him the second top scorer in the French Ligue 1 alongside Lille’s Jonathan David, only behind Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe who has 13 goals.

Lorient have placed a €30m valuation on the Nigerian they bought from Belgian side Kortrijk in 2020 for €8m.
