Nigerian forward Bamidele Yusuf was sent off 10 minutes after coming on, but Ferencváros held firm to beat AC Milan 2–0 at San Siro on Thursday and make it four wins from four in the Europa League league phase, Bold sports reports.

Yusuf replaced Lenny Joseph in the 67th minute, immediately after the forward had scored his second goal of the night. The Nigerian was shown a straight red in the 77th minute after catching Milan defender Mario Gila with an elbow away from the ball. Ferencváros protected their two-goal lead through the closing stages to take all three points.

The visitors had already threatened before the break, with Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani coming out to deny Joseph one-on-one in the 26th minute. Milan went into half-time level and sent on Gila, Christian Pulisic and Diego Moreira for the second half, but Ferencváros broke the deadlock seven minutes after the restart.

Kristoffer Zachariassen set up Joseph for the opener and provided the pass again for the second. This time the visitors broke forward on the counter, and Joseph finished from inside the area in the 66th minute to double their advantage.

Milan sent on Luka Modrić between the two goals and introduced Francesco Camarda after the second. Camarda had chances to pull a goal back before the dismissal, but the hosts could not reduce the deficit. At the other end, Ferencváros still threatened, with Mariano Gómez heading narrowly over from a corner.

Yusuf’s dismissal gave Milan an extra man for the final stretch. Omari Hutchinson tested goalkeeper Dénes Dibusz, Moreira fired over from distance, and Modrić had a stoppage-time effort saved. Ferencváros kept their clean sheet and moved to 12 points at the halfway stage of the league phase.

The result continued a strong run for the Hungarian side, who had beaten Viktoria Plzeň 2–1 and Torreense 4–1 in their previous two Europa League outings. For Milan, the home defeat followed a 3–0 loss at Bournemouth in their previous European match, leaving them without a goal in either of those fixtures.

Ferencváros host Slovenian side Celje on November 26 in their next Europa League fixture. Milan travel to Greece to face Olympiacos on the same day.
