Atletico Madrid are keen on signing Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman in case they are able to offload some players this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Spanish giants are eyeing the Atalanta winger as part of a revamped attack, having already strengthened their frontline with the arrivals of Alex Baena from Villarreal and Thiago Almada from Lyon.
The club have recently made contact to assess the cost of signing the Nigerian forward. Valued at €60 million, Lookman is currently the sixth most valuable player in Serie A.

Despite his inclusion in Atalanta’s preseason squad for the 2025–26 campaign, the Italian side are open to offers, having reached an understanding with the player to allow a transfer if a suitable bid arrives this summer.
Atalanta have already made moves to fill a potential void by signing Kamaldeen Sulemana earlier this month. The Ghanian winger is seen as a potential replacement should Lookman leave before the transfer window closes.
While Atletico remain front-runners, Barcelona are also monitoring the situation closely. The Spanish champions may accelerate their interest after top target Nico Williams renewed his contract with Athletic Bilbao, and with Liverpool reportedly demanding €100 million for Luis Díaz, Lookman presents a more affordable option.

Meanwhile, Napoli have added Lookman to their shortlist as they seek a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG in January. Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs as they continue searching for a new left winger.
Since arriving at Atalanta, Lookman has scored 52 goals and registered 25 assists in 118 appearances. His consistent performances have made him one of the most prolific and dangerous attackers in Serie A in recent seasons.
