Barcelona Femini thrashed Villarreal CF 6-0 on the road to extend their lead at the top of the Liga F table, thanks to braces from Asisat Oshoala and Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmatí, as well as goals from Salma Paralluelo and Graham Hansen.
Despite playing away from home, Barcelona started the game brightly and had several early chances to score. However, they were wasteful in front of goal and it was Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmatí who eventually put the visitors ahead in the 14th minute with a well-taken goal.

The second half started with a bang, as Aitana Bonmatí scored her second goal of the game in the 50th minute to make it 3-0. Salma Paralluelo added to Barcelona’s lead in the 77th minute, and Graham Hansen scored a deflected free kick in the 82nd minute to make it 5-0. Oshoala completed the rout in the 85th minute with her second goal of the game.
With her brace, Oshoala now has five goals in five games for Barcelona this season. The Nigerian international, who has finished as Barcelona’s top scorer in the last three seasons, will be hoping to repeat the feat this year.
