Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has expressed his excitement and readiness for the upcoming Premier League season.
The Nigerian international, known for his versatility on the pitch and his ventures off it, is looking forward to building on Fulham’s previous campaign.
“I can’t wait to get the new season kicked off again,” Iwobi told Standard Sport.
“With Fulham, we had a bit of an inconsistent season, but we know how good we are.”
Reflecting on the team’s performance last season, which saw them finish 13th in the Premier League and reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, Iwobi believes there’s potential for improvement.
“When we were talking at the end of the season, we were thinking, we see the quality in the room, let’s try and push up the table. Everyone is eager and ready to go,” he added.
The 27-year-old’s enthusiasm for the new season comes after a busy summer, which saw him engage in community work and even release a music single. However, Iwobi is clear that football remains his primary focus.
“The main focus will always be football,” Iwobi added.
“But at the same time, I am more than just a footballer. I am human, like everyone else.”
