Akor Adams continued his impressive form with his 10th La Liga goal this season, firing Sevilla to victory as they came from behind to defeat Villarreal 3-2 on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles striker netted Sevilla’s winning goal for the second consecutive game, after also scoring late to help the team defeat Espanyol 2-1 on Saturday.

It means that Sevilla have now won three consecutive La Liga matches for the first time this season. The victory takes them up to 10th in the league, four points above the relegation zone.

Villarreal had scored twice within the first 20 minutes to establish a comfortable 2-0 lead. Gerard Moreno opened the scoring in the 13th minute, before Georges Mikautadze doubled the hosts’ advantage.

However, Sevilla responded in the 36th minute, with Oso finding the net to make it 2-1. Defender Kike Salas then scored on the cusp of halftime to level the scoreline, concluding a dramatic first half.

While Villarreal continued to dominate proceedings in the second half, Sevilla looked more threatening in attack. The visitors remarkably completed the comeback in the 72nd minute through Akor Adams’ terrific finish.

The Nigerian forward received the ball inside the box, composed himself, and then fired a powerful left footed shot to the roof of the net, making it 3-2.

The goal was enough for Sevilla to secure all three crucial points, taking them one step closer to ensuring they remain in La Liga. Interestingly, they are also now two points behind Getafe, who occupy the Conference League qualification spot.

Sevilla will hope to continue their winning run when they host Real Madrid on Sunday. After that, their final game of the season will come up away at Celta Vigo.
