Ochai Agbaji recorded a career-high 28 points to lead the Utah Jazz to a 118-114 win over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in their final game of the 2022/23 regular NBA season.
Agbaji aside from having a game-high 28 points also recorded three rebounds and three assists. Forward Luka Samanic had 23 points, eight rebounds and one assist while Kris Dunn recorded 19 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds in the win.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Nuggets with 21 points while Jamal Murray had 20 points. Last season’s Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic had 10 rebounds, 10 assists and six points in the game.
The rookie who started the season as a backup guard rose to the position as a starter after a series of impressive performances and although the Jazz failed to make it to the post season tournament, he will be hoping to improve on the giant strike of his rookie season in coming campaigns.
Agbaji’s compatriot Udoka Azubuike had eight points, 10 rebounds and one assist while Zeke Nnaji in 12 minutes for the Nuggets had three rebounds and one point. Agbaji scored in double-digits in six of the past seven games, making the most of his late-season opportunity.
