Ademola Lookman scored for the second game in a row as Atletico Madrid secured a 1-0 victory over Girona in their final home match of the season on Sunday.
The Super Eagles winger found the net in Atletico’s 2-1 win over Osasuna last week. This time, he scored the winner, helping his side claim their second consecutive victory.
It took his tally for the season to four La Liga goals in 11 matches. Across all competitions, the 28-year-old has recorded nine goals and three assists for Diego Simeone’s side.
Ademola Lookman broke the deadlock in the 21st minute, tapping home from close range after a brilliant low cross from Griezmann. The goal proved to be enough for the hosts, who held on to deny a desperate Girona side from equalising.

The result means that Girona are now on the brink of relegation. They currently sit 18th in the league with 40 points, two points behind 17th-placed Levante with one game left.
The Blanquivermells will need nothing short of a miracle ahead of their final clash of the season with Elche. In case they win, as many as seven sides in LaLiga still face the threat of relegation.
For Atletico, the result means they are now level on points with third-placed Villarreal, who they will face in their final game on Sunday.
