Chibuike Nwaiwu scored his first goal of the season as Trabzonspor defeated Samsunspor 3-0 in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday. The Black Sea derby took place at Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadyumu, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian defender found the net in the 38th minute. He capitalised on a goalkeeping error to extend Trabzonspor’s lead. The goal added to an impressive first-half performance that put the visitors in control.
Nwaiwu scores in dominant first half
Trabzonspor broke the deadlock through Ernest Muçi in the 28th minute. The midfielder finished from inside the penalty area to give his team the advantage.
Ten minutes later, Nwaiwu doubled the lead. Samsunspor goalkeeper Okan Kocuk failed to hold Muçi’s effort. The loose ball fell kindly for the Nigerian centre-back, who converted to make it 2-0.
