Nigeria international defender Chidinma Okeke has completed her move to Napoli Women from Mexican side América Femenil, Bold Sports reports.
The 26-year-old defender signed a permanent two-year contract on Friday, September 18. Her agreement with Napoli runs until 2028.
Okeke enters her new chapter after a productive 2025/26 campaign with América. She made 27 Liga MX Femenil appearances and featured in seven CONCACAF Champions Cup matches.
Her América spell also included the 2025/26 CONCACAF Champions Cup triumph. That success gives the Nigerian defender another major honour before her arrival in Italy.
Okeke has played across several leagues during her career. She began with Robo Queens in Nigeria before moving to Madrid CFF in Spain in 2019.
The Nigerian can operate at centre-back and full-back. Her versatility gives Napoli another defensive option for the new Serie A Women campaign.
Okeke has also represented Nigeria at several major tournaments. She featured at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
She later played at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She also represented the Super Falcons at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Napoli will begin their 2026/27 Serie A Women campaign against Juventus. The match will take place at Biella’s La Marmora-Pozzo Stadium on Saturday, September 26.
Okeke has already shared her first words as a Napoli player.
“I’m happy about the first days here: I met the mister, the staff and my companions, and it was fantastic. My goal for this season? Giving it all together with the team.”
The move gives Okeke another opportunity to continue her European career. It also places the Super Falcons defender in one of Italy’s top women’s football competitions.
