Leganés forward Álvaro Morata has hailed Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen as one of the top three strikers in the world, praising the Nigerian for his quality, personality and willingness to help others.
Morata and Osimhen shared the pitch at Galatasaray during the 2024/25 campaign, helping the Turkish giants secure a domestic double.
Galatasaray won the Turkish Super Lig with 95 points, losing only once throughout that season. They completed the double with a 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup final, with Osimhen scoring twice.
Speaking to SportyTV in an exclusive interview, Morata explained why he enjoyed playing alongside Osimhen and revealed his admiration for the Nigerian striker.
“Victor is a fantastic guy, Victor is a legend. He’s so funny, he helps people all the time. For me, he’s one of the top three strikers in the world. I really enjoyed playing with him,” Morata said.

The Spanish forward recalled how Osimhen’s movement and confidence made him a dangerous player to combine with during their time together at Galatasaray.
“I remember sometimes I played behind Victor and he was like, put the ball in the space, I’ll score. I think he’s one of the best,” he added.
Morata went on to express his hope that Osimhen remains at Galatasaray, although he admitted he is curious to see just how far the Nigerian can go in his career.
“I hope that he’s enjoying Galatasaray because it’s a fantastic club but I don’t know where is the limit of Victor. I don’t want him to leave Galatasaray but I would like to watch where is Victor’s limit.”
Morata later clarified that the only two strikers he currently ranks ahead of Osimhen are Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane.

Álvaro Morata currently plays in La Liga 2 with Leganés, adding another chapter to a career that has seen him represent several of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The 33-year-old began his senior career with Real Madrid before going on to play for Juventus, Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, AC Milan, Galatasaray and Como.
Meanwhile, Osimhen has continued his impressive goalscoring form for Galatasaray this season, registering six goals and two assists in his first four appearances.
However, the 27-year-old suffered a groin injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Başakşehir and is expected to spend the next few weeks on the sidelines.
His absence is likely to be felt by Nigeria, with Osimhen expected to miss the Super Eagles’ upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau later this month.
