Elijah Adebayo has joined Bristol City on a two-year contract. The 28-year-old striker arrives after leaving Luton Town this summer. He becomes the Robins’ 10th signing of the transfer window, Bold Sports reports.

‎The forward spent six years with Luton Town. He made 184 appearances for the club. He also scored 47 goals during his spell.

‎His strongest Premier League campaign came in 2023-24. Adebayo scored 10 goals. He also became Luton’s first player to score a Premier League hat-trick.

‎That experience now gives Bristol City another attacking option. Manager Michael Skubala has already identified his value to the squad.

‎Adebayo will wear the No. 45 shirt. He had already trained with Bristol City during pre-season. That helped him settle into the squad before completing the move.

‎“I can’t wait to get started. The place has a feel-good factor and it has been easy for me to settle in.

‎“The gaffer has been very clear with what he wants from us and how to attack the season so that is a big reason why I wanted to join.

‎“I will try and use my experience to push the group and get everyone going in the same direction.”

‎Adebayo was born in London to Nigerian parents. He remains eligible to represent Nigeria through his family heritage.

‎His move to Bristol City could therefore add another chapter to his international ambitions.

‎Sporting Director James Ellis believes Adebayo can offer something different.

‎“We have really benefited having Elijah around the place.

‎“He has a huge amount of experience and he gives us a different dimension to our frontline and added competition in that area as we head towards the end of the transfer window.”

‎Skubala also welcomed the striker’s arrival.

‎“We know what a good player Elijah is and he gives us something different going forward. We have all got to know him in pre-season and we are excited to have him as part of the group.”

‎Adebayo now begins a new chapter in the Championship. His experience could prove valuable as Bristol City strengthen their attack.
