Nigeria’s Super Falcons will reportedly open their training camp in Morocco on July 15 as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to hold from July 26 to August 16.
The ten-time African champions are expected to spend one week in the coastal city of Mohammedia before travelling by road to Rabat, where they will be based throughout the group stage of the competition.
Before the team’s departure, head coach Justin Madugu is expected to unveil his final squad for the tournament. The selected players will then converge in Morocco to fine-tune their preparations and tactical approach ahead of the continental showpiece.
Nigeria will begin their title defence against Malawi at the Al Madina Stadium on July 28. The Super Falcons will remain at the same venue for their second Group B fixture against Zambia on August 1 before wrapping up their group campaign against Egypt at the Olympic Stadium on August 5.

Beyond the quest for another African title, this year’s tournament also offers a pathway to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The four semi-finalists will secure automatic qualification for the global tournament, while two other teams will advance to the intercontinental play-offs.
With expectations high, Madugu’s side will be aiming for a strong start in Morocco as they seek to reaffirm Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.
