Victor Osimhen celebrated his 50th Super Lig appearance with a goal, leading Galatasaray to a crucial 3-0 victory over rivals Fenerbahce at the RAMS Park on Sunday.
The Super Eagles striker netted his 20th goal this season, and his 39th since moving to the Super Lig. It helped Galatasaray secure a big win, taking them one step closer to winning the league for the fourth straight season.
The Turkish Champions came into the game with a four-point gap over second-placed Fenerbahce. They were thus aiming to avoid a defeat that will reduce that margin to just one point.
The first half of the thrilling clash began with a flurry of yellow cards, while Talisca missed a penalty in the 11th minute, leaving the scores level.
The missed opportunity came back to haunt Fenerbahce as Victor Osimhen opened the scoring in the 40th minute. The striker received the ball in an awkward position, but still managed to control, before using his knee to score, making it 1-0.

Galatasaray were awarded a penalty of their own on the hour mark, and it led to some drama. Goalkeeper Ederson refused to return to his post for the spot kick to be taken. For delaying the game, he was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
The penalty was eventually taken by Baris Asper Yilmaz, and he converted calmly, making it 2-0. Lucas Torreira wrapped up the win in the 83rd minute, scoring to seal a statement 3-0 victory
The result means Galatasaray are now seven points clear of Fenerbahce who remain second, with just three games left to play.
This also means Galatasaray can win the league if they secure victory in their next match against Samsunspor. That clash would be played on Saturday, May 2.
