Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been named in the Serie A Team of the Week for Matchweek 29 following a standout performance in Udinese’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Juventus on Saturday.
Despite ending up on the losing side, Okoye delivered an impressive display between the sticks, making seven saves to keep Udinese in contention throughout the encounter.
His efforts ensured the game remained finely balanced, even as his teammates struggled to create meaningful attacking opportunities, ultimately leading to their 13th league defeat of the campaign.
The only goal of the game came in the 38th minute when Kenan Yıldız produced a brilliant piece of play, showcasing both athleticism and composure before squaring the ball for Jérémie Boga, who calmly tapped into an empty net to seal the win for Juventus.

Okoye’s heroics, however, did not go unnoticed, as he earns a deserved spot in goal for the league’s Best XI of the week.
In defence, Dodô is recognised after scoring in Fiorentina’s emphatic 4-1 victory, alongside Leo Østigard of Genoa and Antonio Caracciolo of Pisa, who netted a brace.
The midfield features Gustav Isaksen, whose lone strike secured Lazio a 1-0 win over AC Milan, as well as Emirhan İlkhan and Matteo Politano, both of whom found the net in their respective fixtures. Lucas Da Cunha also earns inclusion after an authoritative display in midfield during Como’s 2-1 victory over Roma.
Leading the line, Roberto Piccoli is rewarded for his goal and assist in Fiorentina’s dominant win over Cremonese. He is joined in attack by Stefano Moreo of Pisa and Giovanni Simeone, who also got on the scoresheet for Torino.
