…Chidera Ejuke currently without a goal in eight games
Sevilla FC are keeping a close watch on the fitness of Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke ahead of their upcoming La Liga clash with FC Barcelona this weekend, Boldsports reports.
The Super Eagles forward was unable to complete a full training session with the squad after experiencing minor physical discomfort.
Reports indicate that Ejuke did not participate fully in Wednesday’s training activities with the main group. Instead, the 28-year-old carried out separate exercises designed specifically by the club’s medical staff.
The decision is understood to be precautionary rather than a sign of a serious injury, with Sevilla’s medical team taking a careful approach as they prepare the squad for the demanding trip to Barcelona.

Despite the training modification, the winger is still expected to be available for selection, provided his condition improves over the next few days.
Ejuke’s campaign in Spain has been a challenging one. Across all competitions this season, the Nigerian international has managed one goal and one assist in 22 appearances, struggling to consistently influence matches. However, he has shown flashes of impact in key moments.
When Sevilla last faced Barcelona earlier in the season at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, Ejuke played an important role in the outcome.
Coming off the bench during the second half, he helped inspire Sevilla’s 4–1 victory, providing an assist for fellow Nigerian attacker Akor Adams during the match.

The result was one of Sevilla’s standout performances of the campaign and demonstrated Ejuke’s ability to affect games even when not starting.
Despite his mixed club form, Ejuke remained part of the Nigeria national football team squad during the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Nigeria eventually finished third in the competition after defeating Egypt national football team in the third-place play-off.

Sevilla’s upcoming clash with Barcelona is expected to be one of their toughest league assignments in the coming weeks, and Ejuke’s availability could provide an additional attacking option.
Beyond club duties, the winger will also have international commitments on the horizon. For now, Sevilla’s focus remains on ensuring the Nigerian forward regains full fitness in time for Sunday’s encounter.
