…Enugu Rangers enter title race after impressive run
Enugu Rangers climbed to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League table following a hard-fought 2–0 victory over Nasarawa United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday.
Coached by Fidelis Ilechukwu, Rangers capitalised on slip-ups by title rivals over the weekend. Ikorodu City were hammered 4–0 by Bendel Insurance in Benin City, while Rivers United fell 1–0 to Bayelsa United in Yenagoa.
The Flying Antelopes now sit on 47 points from 28 matches, one point ahead of Rivers United, who have three games in hand, and two clear of Ikorodu City, who have also played 28 matches.
Elsewhere, Remo Stars snapped a seven-game winless run as newly appointed head coach Usman Abd’Allah guided the team to a 2–0 victory over Katsina United in Ikenne – their first win since January 14. Midfielder Haruna Hadi netted both goals, lifting the team two points clear of the relegation zone.
The defending champions have endured a difficult campaign and currently occupy 18th position, with nine wins, three draws and 16 defeats after 28 matches. They will hope that returning to their traditional home ground sparks a revival as they battle to avoid relegation with 10 fixtures remaining this season.

In other results on Sunday, Shooting Stars edged Kano Pillars 2–1, Enyimba were held by bottom side Kun Khalifat in Aba, and Niger Tornadoes played out a goalless draw with Warri Wolves.
Matchday action continues today as Barau FC face Plateau United.
