The tie remains delicately poised after an entertaining 3-3 draw in the first leg, where both Nigerian stars played pivotal roles for their respective sides. Lookman scored the second goal for Atletico while Onyedika also found the net and added a late assist, leading Club Brugge’s comeback.
However, Onyedika’s night ended with mixed emotions, as the midfielder received his third yellow card of the competition in the 76th minute, ruling him out of the second leg through suspension.
Both Atletico and Club Brugge head into Tuesday’s showdown in good form. The Spanish side secured a thrilling 4-2 victory over Espanyol on Saturday, with Lookman netting his first La Liga goal. The Belgian side also claimed a 2-1 win over OH Leuven, keeping them in the race for the league title.
