The quartet of Jordan Nwora, Chima Moneke, Semi Ojeleye, and Ebuka Izundu combined for 51 points to power Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) to a 102–93 victory over Virtus Bologna in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Friday night at the SuperTennis Arena in Bologna.

Crvena Zvezda, who have hit form in recent weeks, are pushing for a return to the playoff places in Europe’s elite inter-club basketball competition after dropping out following a poor run of form earlier in the season.

The Serbian side were chasing a third consecutive EuroLeague win, having defeated Monaco 100–96 earlier in the week, a game in which the Nigerian quartet combined for an impressive 64 points.

Against Bologna, D’Tigers duo Jordan Nwora and Chima Moneke led the way with 15 and 13 points respectively. Ebuka Izundu recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Semi Ojeleye added 11 points.

Beyond the Nigerian contingent, American guard Jared Butler topped the scoring for Crvena Zvezda with 16 points. Nikola Kalinić chipped in 13 points, while Codi Miller-McIntyre contributed 10 points and a game-high 12 assists.

Mouhamet Diouf’s game-high 21 points proved insufficient for Virtus Bologna, who suffered their 13th defeat of the campaign. Derrick Alston added 18 points, Carsen Edwards finished with 16, and Matthew Morgan contributed 14 points.

The Serbian giants are currently on a five-game winning streak across all competitions.
