The Nigerian-born center and former NBA Africa Academy player has been one of the most impressive college basketball players this season after opting to withdraw from the 2025 NBA Draft to further develop his game and improve his chances of being selected in the 2026 draft.

Last season, Chinyelu played a key role in leading the Gators to the national title with a victory over Houston, securing the program’s first championship since their back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007.

Up next, he will turn his attention to Florida’s matchup against Louisiana State University (LSU) as the Gators look to secure a fifth consecutive win in SEC play.
