Dolphins have clinched the 2025 Zenith Bank NBBF Women’s Basketball League title after edging First Bank 61-55 in a pulsating final decided in overtime at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, on Saturday.
First Bank, aiming for a record-extending 10th domestic league crown and their first since 2018, trailed for most of the game but mounted a late surge in the fourth quarter. They outscored Dolphins 15-6, erasing a nine-point deficit to tie the contest at 53-53 and force overtime.
However, Dolphins proved sharper in extra time, outscoring their rivals 8-3 to seal victory and claim their second domestic league title—10 years after their maiden triumph in 2015.
With the win, Dolphins pocketed the N7.5 million grand prize, while runners-up First Bank settled for N5 million.
Earlier in the third-place playoff, MFM Women defeated Royal Aces 70-46 to secure the bronze medal. Gift Ajani powered MFM’s win with a game-high 22 points, earning the Most Valuable Player award and helping her side claim the N3 million prize.

Despite Mofeloluwa Akinrinmade’s 19-point effort, Royal Aces fell short in their bid for third place.
