Atalanta head coach Ivan Juric has confirmed that Ademola Lookman will be available for selection in Sunday’s Serie A clash away at Torino, although the Super Eagles winger is not yet in the best condition, Bold Sports reports.

Lookman has been absent from competitive action for club since the end of last season amid a turbulent summer that saw him push for a move to Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri tabled a €45 million bid for the winger, but Atalanta deemed the offer insufficient. The rejection frustrated Lookman and his representatives, leading to a breakdown in relations with the club.

In an effort to force the transfer, the 27-year-old submitted an official request to leave and went AWOL during pre-season. However, with Inter turning their attention elsewhere and a move failing to materialise, Lookman was left to reintegrate with the Atalanta squad.

Now, four matches into the new campaign, Juric suggested that the player is ready to return, especially with fellow forwards Charles De Ketelaere and Gianluca Scamacca struggling with fitness issues.

“He’s spoken with me, the team and my staff. He was well received and from tomorrow, he will begin to be available to us,” Juric told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Saturday.

“He’s not in the best condition given that he’s been training alone up until now. He did very well in training (on Friday),” he added.

Atalanta have made an unbeaten start in Serie A, collecting one win and two draws from their opening three matches. However, Juric’s side were handed a humbling 4-0 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League during the week, a setback they will be eager to put behind them when they travel to Torino.
