…Butler-Oyedeji earned just two senior caps for Arsenal
Arsenal have confirmed the departure of 20 players ahead of the 2025/26 season, including two of Nigerian descent, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji and Brian Okonkwo, Bold SportsNG reports.
The Gunners made the announcement on Wednesday, extending best wishes to the departing players as they continue their careers elsewhere.
Among other notable names released ahead of the official Premier League list of out-of-contract players, expected on June 30, are Raheem Sterling and Kieran Tierney.

According to Arsenal, the released individuals include players from the men’s first team, Under-21s, and Under-18s, as well as members of the women’s squad whose exits had already been announced.
The club also revealed that the contracts of Chloe Kelly, Thomas Partey, and Michal Rosiak are set to expire on June 30. However, discussions regarding potential extensions are ongoing.

Butler-Oyedeji, who joined Arsenal’s academy in 2011, remained a youth player until 2022. He made two senior appearances this season—one in the Premier League and another in the UEFA Champions League.
Brian Okonkwo, 19, is the younger brother of former Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who currently plays for newly promoted Championship side Wrexham.
