Favour Ashe becomes Auburn’s fifth fastest ever in debut competition

Nigeria’s Favour Ashe started his season on a high at the Clemson Invite on Friday, running 6.57s to place second in the men’s 60m final.

The race was won by Florida State University’s Isaac Kone in 6.51s, a PB and national record for Ivory Coast.

Ashe who was making his debut for Auburn after transferring from University of Tennessee earlier ran a time of 6.59s to win his 60m heat and qualify fastest for the final.

The Nigerian came third in the men’s 60m at the 2022 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships, and was runner up in the 100m at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships while still running for the University of Tennessee.
