…Wikki Tourists go three points clear of relegation zone

Wikki Tourists staged a strong comeback to defeat El Kanemi Warriors 2–1 in their Matchday 29 Nigeria Premier Football League clash at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.

The visitors got off to a dream start, opening the scoring with their very first attack of the game inside the opening two minutes. Daddy Abdulrahman capitalised on a costly error from Wikki goalkeeper Uruk, who misjudged the delivery as a cross and came off his line, allowing the ball to sneak past him and into the net to give El Kanemi Warriors an early lead.

Despite conceding so early, the hosts gradually settled into the match and began pushing forward in search of an equaliser.

Their pressure finally paid off deep into first-half stoppage time. Taiwo delivered a well-timed pass that found Klingshak Longbak, who produced a brilliant finish to level the score in the 45+1 minute, bringing Wikki Tourists back into the contest just before the break.

Wikki carried their momentum into the second half and completed the turnaround shortly after the restart. Imamu Bala found the back of the net in the 52nd minute, finishing calmly to put the home side ahead and give Wikki Tourists a 2–1 lead.

El Kanemi Warriors tried to respond in the remaining minutes but were unable to break through Wikki’s defence, as the hosts held on to secure a valuable 2–1 victory in front of their fans.

Following the result, El Kanemi Warriors sit eighth on the NPFL table with 41 points from 29 matches, while Wikki Tourists move up to 14th place with 35 points after Matchday 29.
