Samuel Chukwueze has shared his thoughts after AC Milan’s emphatic 9-0 win over Perth Glory in their preseason clash on Thursday, stressing the importance of hard work as the team prepares for the upcoming Serie A season, Bold Sports reports.

The Rossoneri dominated the match from the opening whistle, scoring five goals in the first half. Chukwueze netted the fifth with a brilliant solo effort, driving forward before unleashing a fierce left-footed shot from the edge of the area.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri made 11 changes at the break to give minutes to the entire squad, but Milan continued to control the game, adding four more goals in the second half.

“We’re happy to have won two games. Today was a good match,” Chukwueze said following the game, as Milan continued their impressive form after defeating Liverpool in their previous preseason match.

Looking ahead to the new campaign, the Super Eagles winger emphasised the need to stay sharp in every fixture: “Every match counts during preseason to be ready for the start of Serie A. Small or big teams, it doesn’t matter, we have to win every game to achieve our goals for the season. Today’s victory tells us that we must continue to work hard and focus on the next challenges.”

Chukwueze also praised Allegri who returned to AC Milan this summer: “Allegri is a great coach, everyone knows that, he has won a lot in his career. And being here now, he will want to win trophies with Milan too,” he said.

“He’s a great coach, he knows what he wants. He works with the players, he knows how to relate to them, he knows what the players want and what he needs. If we listen to him, we will get results.”

Chukwueze revealed that the team morale is high, with a vibrant atmosphere within the squad as preparations continue: “Everybody is happy, everybody is working hard, In the dressing room we’re dancing. It makes the work easy for us. There’s time for playing, there’s time for joking and there’s time for business. We finished the work, now it’s time for enjoyment.”

Despite his strong preseason performances, questions remain over Chukwueze’s future at the club, with Fulham among the clubs reportedly showing interest in the Nigerian international ahead of the new season.
