Victor Moses pens emotional farewell to Spartak Moscow

Nigerian winger Victor Moses has bid farewell to Spartak Moscow after a three-year stint with the club. His contract expires at the end of June.

Moses arrived at the Russian giants on loan in 2020 following a loan spell with Inter Milan. He then signed permanently from Chelsea for €6.5 million.

The 33-year-old played a key role in Spartak’s success, helping them win the 2021/22 Russian Cup and finishing second in the league. He contributed a total of 10 goals and 10 assists in 80 appearances across all competitions.

In an emotional social media post, Moses expressed his gratitude to the club.

“After three beautiful years at this great club it’s now time for me to move on to a new adventure and I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge heartfelt thank you to everybody connected with Spartak Moscow for all of your incredible support during my time here,” Moses posted on Instagram.

“I’ve loved every minute and leave with memories that I’ll treasure forever. Winning the Russian Cup, the journey we had in the Europa League together, as well as the countless wins and successes we had as a team will always stay with me.

“Thank you to the board, the management, coaches, my teammates, and of course and most importantly our fans for welcoming me into the Spartak family. Good luck for the future.”
