Victor Mbaoma has completed a move to Kenyan Premier League side Tusker FC, becoming the club’s first signing ahead of the 2026/27 season, Boldsports report.

The experienced Nigerian striker joins from Remo Stars on a one-year contract after another productive campaign in front of goal.

‎The 29-year-old arrives in Kenya following an impressive 2025/26 NPFL season. He registered 17 goal contributions in 29 league appearances. His consistent scoring form made him one of the league’s most influential forwards and strengthened his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most reliable strikers.

‎Mbaoma believes Tusker’s ambitions convinced him to make the switch.

“I am really delighted to be joining Tusker FC. The coach and the management presented the club’s project to me and I was attracted to it. I have also gone back to look at the history of the team and this is a winning side. The team has an ambition to not only do well locally but also in Continental football and that was a big attraction for me.”

‎The striker has already signed his contract and is expected to return to Kenya later this week before linking up with his new teammates for pre-season training.

‎Tusker head coach Julien Mette also welcomed the arrival of the Nigerian forward.

‎”I am glad to welcome Victor to the team as our first signing. He is an experienced player who I know very well and I am sure we will make great success together.”

‎This will be Mbaoma’s second spell in East African football after a successful stint with APR in Rwanda, where he won the league’s Golden Boot with 15 goals. His career has also included spells with MC Alger in Algeria and Qizilqum Zarafshon in Uzbekistan.

‎The striker explained that his previous experience with Mette played a role in the transfer.

‎”We shared a home stadium with Rayon and the coach saw me frequently. I am sure he saw a trait in me that will fit his team. I also know him well from my time in Rwanda. He is very passionate and wants his team to always win and I love the energy he puts to his work. He usually transmits this energy to his players.”

‎Mbaoma brings a wealth of experience to the Brewers. Across his spells with Remo Stars, Akwa United and Enyimba, he has played 169 NPFL matches and contributed directly to 74 goals, scoring 65 times and providing nine assists.

‎He has also built an impressive record in African club competitions. The Nigerian has featured in 23 CAF Confederation Cup matches, scoring eight goals and providing one assist. In the CAF Champions League, he has scored four goals in nine appearances.

‎Looking ahead, Mbaoma is eager to help Tusker compete on the continental stage.

‎”I have qualified to the group stages of the Confederation Cup and the Champions League more than once and I know what these kinds of games require. I am determined to help the team achieve such a feat because the coach impressed on me that the team wants to qualify for the group stages.”

‎The experienced striker is expected to strengthen a Tusker attack that struggled for goals last season as the Kenyan club prepares for the new campaign.
