Udinese extends Isaac Success’ contract despite firing blanks in 27 games

Despite failing to score a single goal in 27 league games, Italian Serie A side Udinese has rewarded Nigeria international Isaac Success with a contract extension until the summer of 2025 with the option to extend for another year.

The club confirmed the contract extension with the Nigerian on their official website and social media platforms on Monday, “Udinese Calcio is pleased to announce the extension of Isaac Success’s contract until 30 June 2025,” the club wrote on their website.

The new agreement also provides for an option to extend for a further year until 30 June 2026. The Nigerian forward will thus continue to be a cornerstone of the team for at least another two seasons with 6 assists in the league.”

Despite failing to score a goal for the Friulani this season, the former Nigeria U-17 skipper has provided six assists in as many games. Success joined the Italians in the summer of 2021 from English side Watford for €1.8m.

Success’ previous deal was due to expire on June 30, 2024, having had his contract renewed. The 27-year-old provided an assist for his side in their 3-1 win over champions AC Milan over the weekend.
