The Super Falcons have touched down at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, following their historic triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Bold Sports reports.
Their latest victory marked a record-extending 10th continental title, solidifying their dominance as Africa’s most successful women’s football team — a feat worthy of respect and celebration.
The triumphant team was given a hero’s welcome on arrival, greeted by an enthusiastic crowd that included top government officials, ministers, state governors, members of the press, cultural troupes, and passionate supporters.
From the airport, the players and coaching staff are expected to embark on an open-top bus parade through major parts of Abuja.
The victory parade is expected to pass through key locations including Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market, giving fans across the city a chance to cheer on their champions.
Following the parade, the team will proceed to the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, where they are scheduled to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Later in the evening, the celebrations will continue with a star-studded live concert at Eagles Square in Abuja. Slated to kick off by 7 PM, the event will feature top Nigerian celebrities and entertainers, alongside fans, in a massive celebration of the Super Falcons’ 10th WAFCON crown
