Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face off against defending champions South Africa in what promises to be a blockbuster semifinal showdown at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Bold Sports reports.
South Africa secured their place in the semifinals following a hard-fought battle with Senegal on Saturday, edging past the West African side on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time.
Meanwhile, the Super Falcons booked their spot in the last four after a commanding 5-0 victory over Zambia in the quarterfinals, extending their unbeaten run in the tournament and maintaining their flawless defensive record.

The fixture will be a repeat of the 2022 WAFCON group stage encounter, where South Africa stunned Nigeria with a 2-1 win. The Banyana Banyana went on to win the tournament that year, defeating hosts Morocco 2-1 in the final to claim their first-ever WAFCON title.
Nigeria, on the other hand, are gunning for a record-extending 10th continental crown — an objective the team has dubbed Mission X.
In the tournament’s other semifinal, hosts Morocco will take on Ghana. The Moroccans reached the last four after a 3-1 victory over Mali, while Ghana advanced on penalties following a goalless draw with Algeria.
