11 players have arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Cairo, Egypt as preparations intensify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), Bold Sports reports.
Goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Stanley Nwabali were the first two to report earlier on Sunday. They were later joined by Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Semi Ajayi, Igho Ogbu, goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, and newly invited Tochukwu Nnadi, taking the number of players to eight.
In the recent hours, Pisa midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Lazio’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Porto fullback Zaidu Sanusi have also arrived, with 12 more players expected to join today (Monday).

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) media, the team’s first training session will hold by 8pm local time inside the main bowl of the Cairo International Stadium.
The Super Eagles will then face the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday in a preparatory friendly scheduled for 8pm Egypt time (7pm Nigerian time). Both sides can exceed the standard five substitutions during the game, allowing both coaches to test different players ahead of the AFCON.
Nigeria head into the continental tournament placed in Group C, where they will battle Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda. The Super Eagles open their campaign on Tuesday, 23 December against the Taifa Stars at the Complexe Sportif de Fes, before facing the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on 27 December and wrapping up the group stage against Uganda on 30 December.
