Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Ikorodu City have announced that winger Shola Adelani has completed a transfer to Bulgarian top-flight club Botev Plovdiv, Bold Sports reports.

The Lagos-based club confirmed the move on their official X (Twitter) account on Friday, revealing that the exciting forward has signed a two-year contract with Botev.

“Shola Adelani heads to Bulgaria. The winger completes a 2-year permanent deal to Botev Plovdiv in the topflight,” the club posted.

Adelani was one of Ikorodu City’s standout performers in their impressive 2024–25 NPFL campaign, scoring 12 goals and registering eight assists as the Oga Boys finished fourth in their debut season in the top division.

His performances earned him the club’s Player of the Season award and a call-up to the Super Eagles B squad for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) which was held in August.

The winger carried his excellent form into the 2025–26 season, netting Ikorodu City’s first goal of the campaign in a 1-1 draw with Shooting Stars.
