Despite suffering a minor injury in the 38th minute, the Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper bravely continued playing, thwarting Nigerian attempts throughout the match. His exceptional performance was instrumental in preventing Nigeria from securing a victory.
A draw is a positive result for Rwanda, who are aiming to qualify for their first AFCON since 2004. Under the guidance of German coach Torsten Spittler, the Amavubi have been on an upward trajectory, losing just once in six matches in 2024.
In addition to their strong chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON, Rwanda also leads their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group after four games.
