Super Eagles caretaker coach Austin Eguavoen has benched striker Victor Osimhen for the second consecutive game and midfielder Alex Iwobi for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.
Eguavoen has opted to stick with the majority of the team that earned a convincing 3-0 win over Benin last Saturday. The only change to the starting lineup is the inclusion of Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in place of Iwobi.
The Super Eagles’ defense remains unchanged, with Stanley Nwabali in goal and William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, and Ola Aina forming the back four.

In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi and Bruno Onyemaechi will partner with Dele-Bashiru, while the attacking trident of Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and Victor Boniface will look to continue their goal-scoring form.
Nigeria will be looking for a second consecutive win in Group D, a result that will consolidate their position on top of the table ahead of the next qualifying game against Libya in October.
